Hear the reason
A warm voice explains each move in short, clear sentences while arrows, weak squares and what-if lines appear on the board, exactly as it speaks.
The chess trainer that talks you through every move
Your trainer plays you at your level and tells you, out loud, why each move matters, drawing the idea on the board as it talks. Hear the same ideas often enough and you start finding them yourself. Each week it writes you a new plan from your games.
Sound on. A full week of everything, no card needed.
Where the method comes from
In 1957 Irving Chernev published Logical Chess: Move by Move. He took 33 master games and explained every move with a plain reason you could remember and use at the board. The same ideas came back game after game, until readers simply saw them. Generations of players learned to understand chess this way.
That is how we all learned our first language: by hearing words used, over and over, in real sentences. chesstrainer does the same thing out loud, with each idea drawn on the board as it's spoken, and it picks the games to suit your level.
How it works
Each lesson picks up where the last one stopped, and the positions you miss come back until you get them right.
A warm voice explains each move in short, clear sentences while arrows, weak squares and what-if lines appear on the board, exactly as it speaks.
Play your trainer at your level. Ask anything in the middle of a game, typed or out loud. Stockfish checks every line it shows you, so the variations are real.
Spaced repetition brings back each idea right before you'd forget it, and your plan adapts every week to what you need most. A few minutes a day is enough to keep up.

See it work
The most direct way to improve is also the most fun. Your trainer rating, your Lichess curve, accuracy, blunders per game, and a map of every theme you've mastered sit in one place. You'll know it's working because you'll see it.
Never boring
Your first game shows your trainer how you think. From then on it writes your plan, one week at a time, alternating games, stories, puzzles and drills on exactly the themes you need.
It plays at your level and talks you through the moments that matter, while you play.
Morphy, Capablanca, Fischer and Polgar, with a spoken reason for each move and the ideas drawn on the board.
Find the move, then name the tactic behind it. Once you can name a pin, you start spotting pins in your own games.
Short lessons on the positions that decide games, practised until they are automatic.
Your own pattern set, solved again and faster, until you see it without thinking.
Play on Lichess with one clear goal. Come back, and your trainer reads your games.
Ask anything
Ask in the middle of a game. Your trainer checks the position with the engine, answers in plain words, and plays the line out on a what-if board so you see it with your own eyes.
For players of any age and level
Play one game against your trainer and hear what it notices. Safe for all ages: no ads, no chat with strangers, and parents approve accounts for children under 13.
