Privacy

Last updated October 2026. chesstrainer.org is built for everyone who wants to improve their chess, including children, so we collect as little as possible and never sell or share data for advertising. There are no ads. Optional Google Analytics on public pages runs only after you choose to allow it.

What we store

Children under 13

Children under 13 cannot use the service until a parent approves by email. Parents can ask us at any time to review or delete their child's data by replying to any email from us or writing to trainer@notify.chesstrainer.org. There is no chat with other people, and nothing a child enters is published.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), KeyKeeper (email), OpenRouter (AI coaching: chess positions, moves and a first name are sent to generate explanations and plans), and fal.ai (voice: the sentences the trainer speaks are converted to audio). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

Optional website analytics

If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 on public pages to understand visits and improve the website. Google receives technical information such as your browser, device and IP address, and sets analytics cookies. We disable advertising features and do not send account IDs, names, email addresses, query strings or approval tokens. Analytics does not run on sign-in, onboarding, parental approval, puzzle or account pages.

You can choose “No thanks” and use the website normally. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals. Your choice is saved in this browser. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

Email

We send sign-in links, parent-approval requests, and at most one practice reminder a day, which you can turn off in Settings.

Your choices

You can change your settings, disconnect Lichess, or ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
