The service

chesstrainer is an AI chess trainer. Explanations are generated by software and checked with a chess engine, but they can still be imperfect. It's a learning tool, not a guarantee of results.

Plans and payments

New accounts get a 7-day trial with all features, no card required. After that you can keep the free plan or subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from Plan & billing, and you keep access until the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Fair use

Please don't misuse the service, attempt to break it, or use it to build a competing dataset. We may limit accounts that do.

Open source

The web app is free software under the GNU GPL v3 (it builds on Lichess's chessground and chessops). You can download its source from the link in the footer. Stockfish is GPL-3.0; the puzzle data comes from the Lichess database (CC0).
